  • Money Smart Week – Wed 4/9, 6:30pm - Smart Credit Use and Getting Out of Debt.  Thurs 4/10, 7pm – Small Business Financial Education.  Fri 4/11, 10am – Identity Theft Protection.  Register, 636-677-8186, mpfeiffer@jeffcolib.org
  • Online Bullying – Wed 4/23, 6:30pm.  Cyberbullying can affect all ages.  An intellectual property attorney will discuss ending intimidation and getting materials removed from online.  Register, 636-677-8186, mpfeiffer@jeffcolib.org
  • Local Authors Book Signing – Mon 4/14, 6:30pm.  Chat with and get a book signed by two local up-and-coming authors, Joe Schwartz and John F.D. Taff.  Both authors are from Jefferson County and are making waves in the literary world

  • Book Your Adventure! Adult Reading Program – Now through Sat 4/26.  Pick up your reading passport and read 4 books and be entered to win 1 of 4 grand prize drawings.  Keep reading for more chances to win.  First 100 readers receive a prize
  • Friends of the Library Book Sale – Thurs 4/10, 4-8pm.  Preview night, $5.  Fri 4/11, 10am-5pm.  Sat 4/12, 10am-3pm.  Proceeds benefit Arnold Friends of the Library
  • Money Smart Week – Mon 4/7, 7pm – Beware of Identity Theft.  Thurs 4/10, 7pm- Small Business Prospecting, Looking for the Sales.  Fri 4/11, 11am – Getting out of Debt and the Wise Use of Credit.  Register, 636-296-5171


Sandy Nappier:
  • Jeffco Aspiring Student Scholar Institute (JASSI) – Mon 3/31 through Thurs 5/8.  Individuals interested in returning to college may apply for the JASSI program, an intensive 6 week course designed to increase foundational skills in an effort to improve COMPASS test scores.  $25.00 application fee for new students, otherwise, no cost.  Contact Laura Klaus, 636.481.3524, lklaus1@jeffco.edu  to apply or obtain additional information

Doug Over’s presentation:
  • Jefferson County Military Families Support Network (JCMFSN) supports local members of the military, both active and inactive veterans.  Activities calendar includes events such as drill weekend, feeding at Armory at Festus for training and deployments.  Other support includes home repair projects for families of deployed spouses and exhibitions at parades and fairs.  April is the Month of the Military Child, May is Military Family Month.  www.jeffcomilitaryfamilies.org
  • Financial Leadership Academy teaches people how to control their money instead of being controlled by it.  Offers a financial literacy program through web-based and DVD learning, group events, 1-on-1 mentoring, and sessions in workplaces and churches.  www.icontrolmymoney.org
  • Common Sense Companies contributes to the community with help with veteran’s pensions and dealing with the VA; final expense trusts for setting aside money tax-free for funeral expenses, in addition to and in combination with estate planning; college solutions to fund education, with a consultation to offer information; and life insurance review.  www.commonsensecompanies.com
