Molly Pfeiffer:
  • Reminder - next month’s meeting (3/18) will be held at the Arnold Career Center, 3675 West Outer Road, 63010
  • AARP Driver Safety – 3/12, 1pm-5pm.  $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members.  AARP-led driver safety course.  All are welcome, not just for seniors!
  • ABCs of College Planning – 3/12, 7pm.  Learn more about college planning and financing.  All are welcome, sign-up is required.
  • Gluten and Mood Disorders – 3/28, 6:30-8pm.  Find out about connections between gluten intolerance and mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.  Ask questions and get answers from Dr. Lee.  Sign-up is required.

Josh Henry:
  • Poetry Contest - Entry deadline is 2/28; rules and entry forms are available at the Arnold Branch Library. Poetry reading and awards ceremony is 3/19.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three poems in three age categories: 5-11 years, 12-18 years, and 19 years and older.
  • Bloomin’ Bookworms 2013 Adult Reading Program – Enter 3/4 through 4/27.  First 100 readers to read 4 books win a prize, and enter to win 1 of 4 grand prizes.  Read another 3 books for additional chances to win.  Rules and entry forms available at the Arnold Branch Library
  • Barnes and Noble Bookfair – 3/16 at Barnes and Noble, 721 Gravois, Fenton.  Present voucher when checking out, portion of book sales go to support library.  Vouchers available in library.  Also visit bn.com/bookfairs online from 3/16 to 3/21 and enter Bookfair ID 10986883 at checkout.  A variety of family programs will be held throughout the day at Barnes and Noble.


Debby Campbell:

  • Get Healthy De Soto Wine Reception – 3/15, 5-7pm.  De Soto Central Senior Apartments, 221 S. Third St.  Tickets are $15.  Includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, commemorative wine glass, and ticket to movie screening of “Truck Farm”.  In partnership with the Frank Wilcox Film Festival.  Special appearance by “Ellie Mae Clampett”.  Call Debby at (636) 586-4570 to reserve ticket.

Stephanie Paul:
  • Tax Assistance – MEAAA can assist seniors with simple tax preparation, including assessing eligibility for and completing the MO-PTC.  Call 636-253-0558

Paula Arbuthnot:
  • SAFTA – Advocates use of animals in a therapeutic setting.  Can provide such services as interpreters for the deaf and hard of hearing during doctor’s visits, and animal therapy by pairing kinds of animals with client’s interests.  Contact Paula Arbuthnot (636) 575-6646, www.s-a-f-t-a.org
  • Disabled Summer Camp – July 2013.  Redeemer Lutheran and SAFTA will be holding Vacation Bible School and Animal Zoo with interpreters available.  All disabilities welcomed.


Sophie Emery:
  • Mental Health First Aid Course – 3/21 and 22, 9am-3:30pm.  3880 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold.  No charge.  Training is designed to increase mental health  knowledge, decrease negative stigma, and encourage people to seek assistance for potential mental health concerns.
  • A Night of Comedy Fundraiser – 5/4, at The Pastime Club (5557 US Hwy 61/67, Imperial). Dinner 6:00pm, show 8pm.  $25 ticket includes two-entrĂ©e buffet, two drink tickets, entertainment from 4 comedians.  Proceeds benefits JCCP.  Buy tickets online at www.jccp.org/comedynight.  Contact Sophie Emery, (636) 464-5144 x13
  • Safe Babies – Free monthly training sessions for parents and caregivers.  Safe sleep equipment is available for eligible participants.  Next training is 3/19, 6pm. Call (636) 464-5144 to sign up.
