Molly Pfeiffer:

  • The Three R’s of Stroke- Linda Hill, a stroke coordinator from SSM St. Clare, will discuss stroke recognition and prevention, and perform free blood pressure screenings and risk assessment.  Registration required.  Debby Hodges, 636-677-8186, dhodges@jeffcolib.org
  • Free fax, computer access, and Skype conferencing for active duty military members and their families.  Military ID must be presented.  Ask library staff for more details.
  • Always looking for people or organizations interested in showcasing their group, collection, or hobby in the library display case.  Fill out application.  Call Molly for openings and questions, 636-677-8186, mpfeiffer@jeffcolib.org


Debby Campbell (via online posting):

  • De Soto Farmers’ Market open every Saturday morning 8am-noon. It is the Saturday morning place to be!
  • June 29.  The Shoeman will be in our market to collect any donated shoes from the community.  All proceeds go for the Shoeman Water Projects.  Also Kid’s Corner & Music by Ed Null from 9-11am.
  • July 6.  Customer Appreciation Day.  All valued customers to receive a gift from our market.  Kid’s Corner 9-11am and music by the Back Porch Band.


Mary Tinsley:

  • Constituent Service Day- June 19, 9-10am.  Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch.  Two liaisons will be available to meet with constituents concerning questions about Federal agencies, Social Security, veteran’s help, passports, and more.


Josh Henry:

  • Siteman Mammography Van- July 18, 8:20am-12:00pm.  Mammograms for women 40 and over.  At no cost to those who qualify.  Examination fee billed to patient, insurance company, or Medicare.  Insurance cards should be brought to the appointment.  Call to register, 314-747-7222, 800-600-3606
  • Nutrition for Your Toddler- July 20, 10-11am.  How to appropriately feed your children from infancy through toddler years, and to teach your children how to develop a healthy relationship with food.  Presented by Jefferson County Health Department.  Register, 636-296-5171
  • Fast Food, Fat Food- July 29, 6-7pm.  Educates participants about amounts of sugar in sodas and fat in meals from local fast food restaurants.  Presented by Jefferson County Health Department.  Register, 636-296-5171


Stephanie Paul:

  • Options Consulting can help seniors and caregivers process difficult life issues and make informed decisions when struggling through confusing or troubling situations.  Via phone, at home of senior, or in public venue.  Call 636-207-0847 or 800-AGE-6060
  • Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions- Begins June 18.  6 Tuesdays from 9-11am.  6 week workshop designed to educate those living with chronic illnesses better cope with their conditions and the impact on their life. 


Sophie Emery:

  • Hammers of Hope- A/C units available for qualifying seniors over 65 and low-income residents of Jefferson County.  Dennis Murphy, 636-464-5144 x15
  • Parenting Network- A home visitation program to enhance parenting skills and provide support to first-time parents with children from birth to 3 years old.  Christine Kreutz, 636-464-5144
  • Safe Babies- Monthly educational meetings for parents regarding SIDS, Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention.  Eligible families may receive safe sleep equipment.
